DEERFIELD VETERANS CAN QUALIFY FOR HOMESTEAD TAX EXEMPTION
Public Act 161 of 2013 was signed by the Michigan Governor Rick Snyder this November. It grants full property tax exemptions for the homesteads of Veterans in Deerfield Township who have been discharged from the United States Military under Honorable Conditions and qualify for a homestead exemption under ONE or more of the following: (more…)

BS&A Software and Deerfield Township have created a partnership to help provide a fast convenient way for constituents to view valuable data online. Residents can access the assessment information on their own property at no charge. There is a small fee for information on other properties. (more…)
IMPROVEMENTS IN FIRE RATING MAY LOWER YOUR HOME INSURANCE BILLS
Deerfield Township residents should note that Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) has issued a Public Protection Summary Report changing the Public Protection Classification for most of the township to a “5”, effective February 1, 2011, improved from the previous rating of a “9”. (more…)

The Deerfield Township Fire Department does not issue burn permits. Burn permit information is available on line at www.michigan.gov/burnpermit or by calling the Department of Natural Resources at 1-866-922-2876

CURB-SIDE RECYCLING NOW IN DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP
Residents in Deerfield Township can now recycle materials without hauling them to the recycling center. The cost for the program is $15.00 per household. The Deerfield Township Board passed a motion to use general fund monies to pay for the program on a trial basis.
